What is Breathwork?

What is breathwork? Put simply, it is manipulating your breathing to achieve a specific outcome.

Breathing is something that we do up to 20,000 times a day or 7.3 Million times a year, imagine how much of an impact that can have in our lives once we realise that by altering our breathing it can influence our:

  • Mental & Emotional State

  • Physical State

  • Cardiovascular Health

  • Chaotic Internal chatter

A Breathwork practice can be incorporated into daily life and doesn't need to be complicated, doesn't require expensive equipment or a trip to a monastery in the Himalayas.

Unlike meditation or mindfulness practices; breathworks effect is almost immediate. Combining these modalities can create positive shifts in one self.

Breathwork has evolved alongside human development and potential for thousands of years. It is a central practice in many ancient traditions, including Yoga, Tantra, and Shamanism and has been shown to have numerous physical, emotional and spiritual benefits.

Many ancient techniques that have been passed down across many generations are now slowly being reintroduced into the fringes of modern society. We ourselves have trained (and continue to train), learned and dabbled with a variety of these techniques which include but are not limited to:

  • Conscious Connected breathing

  • Transformational breathing

  • Pranayama and yogic techniques

  • Wim Hof style

  • Oxygen Advantage

  • Holotropic style

Despite its long history and scientific evidence supporting its benefits, conscious breathing has not been fully integrated into our education system or medical care, leaving it with the potential to have a large positive influence in these areas.

Our breath is a powerful tool for improving our health and wellbeing and conscious breathing can help us to live longer, healthier and more consciously as evolving human beings.
